John Geary
Principal Solicitor
John established J.V. Geary Solicitors in 2010 and is a practicsing Solicitor with over 21 years experience. He started his legal career more than two decades ago in the leading Dublin law firm, Matheson where he trained and worked as a qualified Solicitor. He practised law in a number of specialist law firms in the capital, before deciding to establish J.V. Geary Solicitors in his native county. John has a broad range of experience having worked advising and supporting clients across multiple practice areas. He has a strong record of delivering commercial and results focused advice to meet clients’ needs. He practises a great deal of his time in the area of civil litigation, acting for clients in the Circuit Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. He has successfully acted in a significant number of High Court cases for compensation for personal injuries, the completion of medical negligence claims and commercial law cases. His caseload is varied and covers personal injury, non-jury, chancery, defamation, employment, aviation, planning as well as land and probate litigation. John has extensive experience of dealing with civil and commercial disputes across a broad range of sectors and client profiles.  He regularly advises clients who need assistance in the areas of Disciplinary and Regulatory Law. John advises on all types of business disputes including shareholders’ disputes, and negligence claims for or against a range of professionals including doctors, lawyers, accountants and engineers/architects. John has a strong knowledge of the law, excellent communication skills and has the conviction to pursue each client’s case without fear or favour and to achieve the very best outcomes. This ethos has been the cornerstone to the success of J.V. Geary Solicitors LLP. He is Editor of The Parchment magazine since 2009 – the quarterly publication of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and is well known for his legal journalism and keeping on top of the burning legal issues of the day. John takes great pride in his work, especially in regard to advising clients and assisting them in difficult situations, and he takes satisfaction in doing a first-rate job on behalf of all clients.

Ita Feeney
Senior Solicitor
Ita Feeney has been practising law and advising clients at J.V. Geary Solicitors since 2011. She has extensive experience in all aspects of property and real estate including acquisition and sale of residential and commercial properties, development land, retail units, housing sites, multi-property investments. She also advises clients on commercial clients on all aspects of Landlord and Tenant law. Ita is a very experienced litigator and whose practice spans a broad range of complex disputes. She has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, in particular personal injuries, contractual and property disputes. She practices in all areas of criminal defence work to include advising clients when detained in a Garda Station, and she defends serious offences before trials at the Circuit Criminal Court and Central Criminal Court. She is an experienced practitioner in family law cases, specifically divorce and separation both contentious and non-contentious. 
Ita was Honorary Secretary of the Mayo Solicitors’ Bar Association between 2020-2024.

Patricia Lally
Senior Solicitor
Prior to joining J.V. Geary Solicitors in 2014, Patricia worked in a Solicitors’ practice in Cork and Galway where she gained valuable experience in all aspects of litigation. Patricia is highly regarded as both a litigator and a negotiator and she represents clients in courts of all jurisdictions throughout Ireland. She has substantial experience in acting for clients on a wide range of contentious matters including breach of contract disputes, land law litigation and judicial review. Patricia has a specialist expertise in advising clients on their personal injury case, to include road traffic accidents, pedestrian accidents, workplace accidents, fatal accidents and also medical negligence actions. As well as her extensive litigation practice, Patricia advises clients on all aspects of general practice including conveyancing, probate, employment, family and liquor licensing law. She also advises commercial clients, in particular in the area of commercial leases and commercial lending. Patricia is an experienced employment lawyer who places a lot of emphasis on offering practical and pragmatic solutions to clients. She frequently represents clients before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the civil courts in employment litigation such as unfair dismissal, health & safety and equality/discrimination cases. 
Patricia is known for providing advice that is both clear and concise and for understanding the importance of good client relations where confidentiality and professionalism are among her core values.

Aileen Feely
Senior Solicitor
Aileen Feely is a senior member at J.V. Geary Solicitors having joined the practice in 2013 after gaining invaluable experience working at a mid-sized law firm in Dublin. She has wide-ranging experience in litigation, immigration law and family law. Aileen is a highly experienced advocate and practices extensively in all areas of litigation - civil and criminal, and at all court levels. She has particular expertise in defending clients in all matters coming before the courts and advising clients on their rights. Aileen is known for her ability to quickly identify pertinent legal issues in cases and present pragmatic strategic solutions. Her goal is to ensure that the rights of her clients are diligently defended and protected. She advises clients on citizenship applications, long-term residency rights, and visa applications. Aileen is accomplished at dealing with clients with mental health difficulties and has developed an expertise in working with authorities and health care professionals in this area. Aileen has practiced in the area of family law, legal separation and divorce for over a decade. She is known for her practical and commercial approach in advising clients to resolve their legal issues in a fair and reasonable manner and to get on with their lives. She is highly regarded for her work in this area and for her specialisation in family law.

Aoife Cawley
Senior Solicitor
Aoife joined J.V. Geary Solicitors in 2018 after gaining considerable experience in practice. She is a highly accomplished Solicitor mainly practising in the areas of Property, Litigation and Family law. Aoife has strong specialist knowledge in the acquisition, development, disposal and leasing of properties. Her experience makes her a highly respected adviser to clients with high-level communication throughout transactions. She advises clients including domestic start-up businesses to overseas companies setting up operations in Ireland, on a variety of strategic and practical issues. Aoife has a particular interest in litigation and commercial law. She represents clients at District, Circuit and High Court level. In addition to general litigation, she defends those suspected or accused of unlawful activities before the Courts. Her strong sense of social justice ensures that the interests of each of her clients are always to the forefront of Aoife’s work. She also regularly represents employers and employees before the Workplace Relations Commission as well as landlords and tenants before the Residential Tenancies Board. Elizabeth Gallagher
Senior Solicitor
Elizabeth is a senior member of the team at J.V. Geary Solicitors. She is a highly skilled conveyancer with broad residential and commercial expertise. She has a wealth of knowledge from her 15 years plus experience working in the legal field making her a private client specialist. Elizabeth advises clients on a weekly basis in drafting Wills. She deals with a large probate case load including estate planning matters. She extracts all types of Grants including Grants of Probate and Grants of Administration (where there is no will). She deals with the division of assets between beneficiaries, and vesting property in then names of beneficiaries including drafting and registration of assents. She has particular experience advising executors, personal representatives, beneficiaries and trustees in relation to trust and estate issues, administration and distribution of both resident and non-resident estates and related disputes. She frequently advises clients in the area of challenging wills and testamentary capacity. Elizabeth has the expertise and experience to guide clients through Wills and Probate issues, whether individuals seeking peace of mind in regard to their personal affairs and the distribution of their assets following death or an executor tasked with putting the provisions of a deceased person’s Will into operation.
